Muslim Ban
Today, a federal appeals court ruled unanimously against reinstating Trump's Muslim ban. The Justice Department is currently reviewing the decision, and may bring the case to the Supreme Court. Here's how you can fight against the ban.
  1. Become a "friend of the court." The Monday after Trump announced the Muslim ban, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) filed a case in federal court to overturn the executive order. At the end of next week, CAIR will be adding a "friend of the court" briefing to their lawsuit to show the massive popular rejection of the ban. They're asking at least 15,000 Americans to sign their names as people impacted by the order. If you are a Muslim, or a friend or ally to Muslims, then you have been directly or indirectly impacted. Fill out this form to add your name: https://act.mpowerchange.org/sign/join-ban-lawsuit/

  2. Become a "citizen co-sponsor." This morning, Senator Kamala Harris introduced the Access to Legal Counsel Act, which would guarantee counsel for refugees and other travelers blocked at U.S. ports of entry. Fill out this form to become a "citizen co-sponsor" of this act and stand with those impacted by the Muslim ban: http://go.kamalaharris.org/page/s/access-to-legal-counsel-act

  3. Email your members of Congress. Today's court ruling does not permanently abolish Trump's executive order. Use this form to email your members of Congress and tell them to take immediate action to overturn the ban for good: https://secure3.oxfamamerica.org/page/speakout/congress-overturn-refugee-immigration-ban

  2. Natural Gas Waste Rule: Members of Congress are planning to repeal a rule that limits the amount of dangerous natural gas and methane being leaked into our air from oil and gas facilities.
